Original Artwork

How do I purchase an Original Lora Marden Art Painting?

I create original paintings year-round and release them in thoughtfully curated
collections a few times each year. Each collection varies in size and subject, but every release is announced in advance through my email list and social media.

Because originals are limited and one of a kind, collections often sell quickly. I
encourage collectors to join my Collectors Club for early access and release details.

Do you do custom commissions and bespoke artwork?

Yes, I accept a limited amount of commissions each year. My Commissions are currently closed and have a waitlist. Interested in a custom piece for your home or as a gift? Contact Us today to inquire about our waitlist process.

What type of materials do you use?

I work primarily with professional-grade acrylic paints on canvas, building each piece with thick, sculptural layers using a palette knife. I incorporate a variety of acrylic mediums to create rich texture, depth, and dimension throughout the surface.

All materials are carefully selected for their durability and longevity, ensuring each
artwork is made to be both visually impactful and long-lasting.

How will my artwork be shipped?

All artwork is packed securely, padded well, and sent in a well-fitting sturdy cardboard box. Most orders will ship via USPS or UPS within 3-5 business days of order confirmation. Most domestic packages arrive within 3-7 days from the time of shipping.

Shipping costs cover fees, insurance, packaging supplies, time, labor, and storage.

Do you offer local New Orleans delivery?

Yes, complimentary local delivery is available in the New Orleans area. Please select “Local Delivery” at checkout and we will be in contact to coordinate a date and time.

Shipping of Oversized Canvases (Larger than 32" x 48")

Large-scale works—including canvases, reworked canvases, and original paintings
larger than 32” × 48”—are shipped via professional art freight to ensure the highest level of care in transit. This method adds approximately 2–3 weeks to the processing timeline.

Art freight pricing begins at $500 and is finalized prior to shipment. All shipping
arrangements and costs will be confirmed, and payment is required before the artwork
is released for delivery.

Charitable Donations

Supporting the communities that inspire my work is deeply important to me.
Throughout the year, I donate artwork to select charitable organizations and fundraising events in New Orleans and Martha’s Vineyard, using my art as a way to give back to the places I love.

Please Contact Us with details about your charitable event. Due to the volume of requests I receive, donations are considered on a limited, case-by-case basis. Please give us as much advance notice as possible.

Galleries and Retail Partners

I’m honored by your interest in representing my work. Gallery owners and retail partners are invited to Contact Us to share details about your space or show and discuss potential opportunities.

Interior Designers

I love collaborating with interior designers and seeing my artwork thoughtfully placed
within beautifully curated spaces. Design professionals are invited to Contact Us with details about their project and the artwork they’re interested in.

Artwork Rights & Usage

All artwork I create remains protected by copyright under Lora Marden. While collectors purchase the physical, original piece, the image itself remains my creative property.

This means I may create reproductions of my work—such as prints or other editions—unless reproduction rights have been purchased separately. Reproduction rights are not included with the purchase of an original or commissioned painting unless otherwise agreed to in writing.

Collectors may not reproduce the artwork in any form without my written permission.

You are, of course, welcome to display your artwork in your home or business—and I love seeing my work lived with and enjoyed. If your space or artwork is photographed or featured in a magazine or other media, I simply ask for artist credit. Exciting - your space must be
stunning!

For collectors who prefer their artwork to remain completely exclusive, I do offer the option to purchase full or partial reproduction rights. This ensures the image will never be reproduced as a print. I’m always happy to talk through these options if that’s something you’re interested in.
